Unit #2:  Early Man

The earliest species of human-like creatures are called "hominids."  There were several species of hominids, the latest of which is our species, called homo sapiens. We will study the development of early man, beginning with hunter-gatherer societies and ending with the formation of permanent settlements based on farming. This is an important unit because it leads to the creation of civilizations, which will study for the rest of the year.


Essential Questions:
  • How did early man development skills and culture? 
  • How did early man adapt his environment to survive and thrive?

Log on to the website called "Stone Age Tool Kit."  Click the light blue button that says, "LAUNCH INTERACTIVE" in order to explore the content. Fill out the Google Form (located in Google Classroom) as you interact with the website. 

Watch a BrainPop Video: "The Agricultural Revolution"
Log on to the BrainPop website using the JWMS username and password.  Search for the video called "The Agricultural Revolution" and take the quiz.  Email your quiz to tbaldwin@psusd.us
