Welcome
Parents & Scholars
Picture

Dear Parents & Scholars,

Welcome to James Workman Middle School.  I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child to my class.  My name is Ms. Tara Baldwin.  I have taught for the Palm Springs Unified School District for twenty years.  I am a GATE certified teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and an Administrator Certificate.  My goal is to increase my students’ own motivation to learn, show students what is possible, and encourage them to reach for their own dreams.

A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher.  You can increase your child’s motivation for learning at home by reading to and in front of your child.  In addition, set aside a quiet, well-lit area with enough space and supplies for your child to study.  Please remember to check and your child's agenda daily.

My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high.
With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together.

Again, welcome!  Please feel free to
contact me about any question or concerns you may have this year.
My classroom door is always open, and messages can be left for me with our school secretary, or via my email address,
tbaldwin@psusd.us, both to which I will respond to
as soon as possible.  I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this year.

Sincerely,
Ms. Baldwin

“Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It’s not your parents, your relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make.  Period.”
